Latest Podcast Episode
Today’s guest is Philip Jonitz.
Philip is the founder of Klink, a gamified investment platform in the crypto space. Klink is just over a year old. They’ve received funding, they’re acquiring customers and onboarding new tokens to invest with. We had a very interesting discussion about how Klink works and how they started.
In the episode, we discuss:
• How Klink works
• What problem they’re solving
• The state of web3
• Building in a bear market
• Building a remote-first company
• Finding balance while founding a company.

Perspective
Routine
I just got back from an amazing holiday.
I know I’m extremely lucky, but on the flight, I did some thinking.
I realised that I need some semblance of routine no matter where I am or what I’m doing.
Yes, some say you should unplug and completely unwind, and maybe that works for some, but not me.
I actually felt a bit out of wack and struggled to fully relax without doing something as simple as exercising.
Maybe I’ve changed and I’m too tightly strung or maybe it just works for me.
Is it possible to have a routine on holiday?
Is it possible to plan your existing routine into your holiday plans?
I’m not sure, but I’m going to experiment the next time I go away.
I’m intrigued to see how long it takes me to get back into a routine.
What has your experience been with holidays and routine?
Do you need one?
Tool
I know there are a million project collaboration tools out there. And most of them do a good job.
But this one is slightly different.
They display work-related posts like a social feed in chronological order. In a particular channel.
So, I see it as a feed on top of something like Slack.
It’s an interesting approach and it may not be for every team, but it’s good to know that something like it is out there.
We’re all familiar with how our social feeds work and how to use them.
This could help with on-boarding and set-up times. Particularly for younger generations.
Let me know if you give it a go and what you think.
How does it compare to the more common project management tools like Asana and Monday?

Networking
We all see the value of networking.
Some of us a really good at it and some of us are really shit at it.
Some think it’s a numbers game and others play smart and connect with high-value connections by going to fewer events.
I try not to talk about Tim Ferriss too much because I feel like I’ve done it a lot already.
But sifting through one of his old episodes I found one on Networking that I had to share.
Here are the nuggets that I found useful:
• Don’t make an impression, leave a memento
• Why ignorance can be bliss
• How to pitch to “A-listers”
• How to pick people out of the crowd
• What to ask instead of, “What do you do?”

Concept
Effective Altruism
We all want to do good.
Some of us are more motivated by it than others.
When I came across effective altruism I was fascinated.
What is effective altruism?
Effective altruism is a research field and practical community that aims to find the best ways to help others and put them into practice.
It’s all about making the biggest possible impact with what you have.
If you are actually motivated by something like this and not someone who just talks about it, then you can check out this great resource.
They’ve done all the research and put together some great resources on how you can make a difference.
I don’t think I’m at this level and I think that’s OK.
It’s not for everyone and people shouldn’t feel bad for not wanting to give as much as these people.
But for those who do, I hope you found this interesting and hopefully easier to make an impact.
Thanks for Reading
Now start something!
