Resisting the urge and having the patience to wait.

Perspective
Waiting
“The big money is not in the buying and the selling, but in the waiting”
Why are we so impatient?
We’re always looking to make a quick buck; the shorter we wait for it, the better.
Charlie Munger’s quote says it all.
It’s about doing the work, having the conviction to invest, and then having the patience to wait for it.
This doesn’t have to apply to investing in companies only. It can apply to anything.
If you’re willing to make that investment, it will pay off over time.
So think of this quote next time you get impatient.
Don’t assume something isn’t working, maybe it just hasn’t happened yet.
Wait.
Tool
Riverside
This is a tool that I use almost every day and it has helped me drastically in my podcast-making process.
On the surface, it seems like another video-calling app, but it’s more than that.
I chose it because it records video and audio natively on everyone’s computer.
So, if the signal drops or the video looks choppy, that doesn’t matter because it’s being recorded on everyone’s computers.
This has been a lifesaver more than I can count.
A feature that I haven’t used yet is the producer functionality. You can have a producer sit in on the conversation and pull up topical information while you chat. Like Jamie on the Joe Rogan Podcast.
It’s not only for podcasts but can also be used for webinars and panel discussions.
It has some great features and it uses AI to chop up your video into sharable social media content, with captions.
They continue to add features and are always thinking about improving the experience.
Check them out if you’re interested.

Resistance
@richroll18 Resistance To Big Dreams Steven Pressfield
I love Steven Pressfield’s books.
The reframing of resistance and how to approach it completely changed my perspective on a lot of things.
If you’re putting something off, it’s probably the thing you should be doing the most.
What’s your resistance?
Concept
The Strength of Weak Ties
In networking, we underplay how valuable weak ties are.
What are weak ties?
They’re our second connections, people we’ve met through others and maintained that relationship at a distance.
In our immediate network, what are the odds that they can introduce you to someone new?
We tend to know the same people and that’s why the opportunity lies beyond our immediate connections.
Most job opportunities come from secondary connections.
This concept of weak ties is often overlooked and people get a narrow networking mindset to achieve a specific goal.
But what if you wanted to change industries or get investment in a different market?
These connections are more valuable than you think.
Pay closer attention to those weak ties.
